The topic of Will Smith slapping the taste out of Chris Rock’s mouth at the Oscars is a big trender on social media this week.

EVERYONE is getting in on the clickbait action by offering their ‘unique take on the controversy:

  • Was Chris Rock’s joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair ‘insensitive?’
  • Should Will Smith lose his Oscar?
  • Was it all staged?
  • Did Will Smith hit Chris Rock because the comedian is one of the many people in Hollywood who slept with Jada?
  • What’s with the slap? Can’t the guy who played Ali hit like a man?
  • Why wasn’t Will Smith arrested?

Yes, these are all important questions the global community should be pondering as we ignore runaway inflation, an impending food shortage, and the fact that we are on the verge of WW3.

Celebrity has-been Jim Carrey is the latest attention-seeking public figure to weigh in on what creatively-bankrupt writers have dubbed “the slap heard ’round the world.”

Jim Carrey famously believes he “doesn’t exist” and is just an idea, but that doesn’t mean his opinion doesn’t count apparently.

“I was sickened,” Carrey said of the controversy. “I was sickened by the standing ovation [Smith received after winning his Oscar]. I felt like Hollywood is just spineless, en masse. It really felt like, ‘Oh, this is a really clear indication that we’re not the cool club anymore.'”

Celebrities not in the ‘cool club?’ That train left the station a long time ago, Jimbo.

Carrey also admonished Smith for engaging in behavior that promotes violence, which Jim abhors.

“If you wanna yell from the audience and disapprove or show disapproval or say something on Twitter or whatever — you do not have the right to walk up on stage and smack somebody in the face because they said words,” Carrey said.

Thanks for the sermon, Jim. Go back to not existing now, please.
