Left-wing journalists and social media warriors were outraged by Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert’s comments on the House floor Wednesday, accusing him of calling for more “uprisings” following last week’s Capitol Hill riot.

Gohmert made the comments as the House debated whether or not to impeach President Trump for a second time, prompting the Texas Republican to criticize Democrats’ double standard.

“Here’s a quote: ‘I just don’t even know why there aren’t more- why there aren’t uprisings all over the country and maybe there will be,'” Gohmert began. “Or, ‘Sadly, the domestic enemies of our voting system and honoring our Constitution are right at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with their allies in Congress.’ We were called ‘enemies’ of the state.

Cut the outrage machine:

“Holy s—. Is [Gohmert] encouraging MORE ‘uprisings’??!? Did I hear that right??????????” CNN analyst Asha Rangappa wrote on Twitter.

“You did. His testimony should be used to immediately expel him,” Law & Crime columnist Elura Nanos replied.

Most of the comments from lesser-known Twitter users are too foul to post here.

However, we CAN post a video of the self-righteous Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who Rep. Gohmert was quoting in his comments.
