The federal government partially shut down on Saturday after lawmakers were unable to agree on a package to keep the government open that would include $5 billion in funding for a wall along the U.S. southern border.

Trump is adamant that he will not sign a bill that does not adequately fund the wall. Indiana Rep. Jim Banks told WIBC host Rob Kendall he believes the President will remain firm on his stance.

Rep. Banks:

“I have no doubt about it; that’s what this President does. He’s bold, he’s keeping his campaign promises, and when it comes to building the wall, border security, boosting funding for the border, he’s done exactly that. Republicans have frankly failed him in the last couple of years in not meeting the President’s requests for more funding for the wall, and this is our last chance.”
