Democratic Debate — Round 2

The debates in Detroit last week saw Democrats escalate their attacks on each other, and particularly against moderates within the party, as each fought for dominance in a broad field of nominees. This of course, is only the beginning. Democrats are positioning themselves and their policies as a reaction to Donald Trump, but will this reactionary approach gain traction with voters in the general election? Only time will tell. 

In the town of Bloomington the City Council has temporarily shut down the long-running Farmers Market amid allegations that one of the farmers is part of a White Supremacist Nationalist group. Protesters passed around buttons saying “Don’t buy veggies from Nazi’s” to express their discontent. 

In addition to the historic anniversary of the moon landing, it is also the 50th Anniversary of the famous (or infamous) Woodstock festival. One of the original organizers of the event sought to revive the movement, but met with opposition.
