From Mariah Carey’s lip-sync disaster to forgetting to air the ball drop, live New Year’s Eve Specials never disappoint to bring in a great viral moment. Starting off 2022, Andy Cohen decided to blast NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio one last time.
While hosting their 5th Annual CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live, it seemed Cohen’s celebration was not just about the New Year. After the ball drop, Eric Adams was sworn in as the new New York City Mayor, replacing de Blasio and Cohen clearly couldn’t be more happier.
“Watching Mayor de Blasio do his ‘victory lap’ dance after four years of the crappiest job as the mayor of New York…”
Co-host Anderson Cooper interjected, “Oh, don’t go on a rant. Don’t go on a rant. This is how you want to start the New Year?”
“The only thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been. Sayonara, sucka. 2022, it’s a new year. And guess what? I have a feeling I’m going to be standing right here next year, and you know who I’m not going to be looking at, dancing as the city comes apart? You!”
