Apple announced Monday morning they will be investing in a new “state-of-the art distribution center” in Hendricks Country. IEDC says Apple will bring 500 new jobs to Hoosiers by the end of 2024.

The multinational tech company is expanding operations in order to better support their US customers. The company plans on investing $100 million in the state from their Advanced Manufacturing Fund, according to their media press release.

The new facility will operated by XPO Logistics Supply Chain locating in Clayton.

Gerry Dick, with Inside Indiana Business, says the overall growth of distribution hubs in Hendricks County has been steadily increasing for a few years. One reason the Hoosier state is getting interest is because of our location and investors are noticing.

“Indiana is geographically positioned to be a big player in the industry and that certainly has happened. So that can be a magnet for additional investments.”

He notes that Indiana alone has 10 Amazon facilities around the state in addition to the company opening another facility in Fort Wayne, promising 1,000 jobs. Now with Apple coming to town the interest to invest in Indiana property not only will appeal to other companies nationwide, but globally.

Apple is headquartered in Cupertino, California.
