Bad news: Fox News has been busted twisting Biden’s climate plan. Good News: We can still eat all the meat we want (regardless of #meatlessmondays.)
Fox News anchor John Roberts issued a correction Monday after claiming President Biden’s climate plan would call for citizens to limit their red meat consumption.
On Friday during America Reports, Roberts talked about a University of Michigan study that found cutting back the population’s overall red meat consumption would drastically reduce harmful greenhouse emissions. After discussing the research, Roberts claimed that this was a model for Biden’s administration. Monday, Roberts admitted that this is not the case.
“The data was accurate but a graphic and the script incorrectly implied that it was part of Biden’s plan for dealing with climate change. That is not the case.”
The falsified headline perpetuated the narrative of Biden limiting beef with several other Republicans and publications cycle chiming in this weekend.
No matter what party you belong to, this is a good reminder to take national media with a (very large) grain of salt (then have yourself a steak.)
