It's clear that President Donald Trump is not backing away from his stance on tariffs, stating in a tweet Tuesday morning for rebuilding the U.S. steel industry.
“In one year Tariffs have rebuilt our Steel Industry — it is booming! We placed a 25% Tariff on ‘dumped’ steel from China & other countries, and we now have a big and growing industry,” Trump tweeted. “We had to save Steel for our defense and auto industries, both of which are coming back strong!”

WIBC host Tony Katz reiterated his stance on Trump's so-called 'trade war' with China Wednesday morning:
"The President is not backing an inch on the tariff conversation. The strategy should have been from the beginning that this is a matter of national security. This is not only a conversation of trade deals that will allow more goods into Chinese markets, but the idea of putting an end to Chinese abuses in a series of areas.
...The question you have to ask yourself is whether or not this is something you're willing to go along with for the long-term. Are you willing to accept higher prices on a whole series of products for the long-term - meaning past the 2020 election. And is there enough support for Trump to secure a second term in the face of higher prices on consumer goods and, lest we forget, higher prices at the fuel pump."
