ABC reporter David Wright was suspended this week after an undercover video emerged from Project Veritas in which the veteran newsman described himself as a socialist, criticized ABC’s programming, and expressed his disdain for President Trump.

“I feel terrible about it. I feel that the truth suffers, the voters are poorly informed, and people also have the opportunity to tune into whatever they want to hear,” Wright says in the video, which also features an ABC News producer. “And so, it’s like there’s no upside, or our bosses don’t see an upside in doing the job we’re supposed to do, which is to speak truth to power and hold people accountable.”

Wright continues to expound on his political views, asserting, “I would consider myself a socialist, like I think there should be national health insurance,” he says. “I’m totally fine with reining in corporations, I think they’re too many billionaires, and I think there’s a wealth gap – that’s a problem.”

Later in the video, Wright calls Trump a “d***” and compares him to a “nightmare spouse you can’t win an argument with.”

‘Socialist’ ABC Reporter Admits Bosses Spike News Important to Voters, ‘Don’t Give Trump Credit’

WIBC host Tony Katz sat down with Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe at CPAC Friday for a discussion about the ABC News sting.

O’Keefe:

“These comments from [David Wright] are things that we’ve always suspected, but to hear a veteran news journalist at ABC actually say it is huge.

“…[Wright] says in the video that he’s a socialist – not a democratic socialist, which everyone is entitled to their political beliefs – but then he goes on to say that ABC doesn’t give Trump enough credit for his accomplishments and the good things that he does do.

“So how does ABC respond? They suspend him with the justification that they don’t like political bias, and this creates its own firestorm this week with many journalists attacking ABC News for suspending journalist David Wright.

“This is the second story we’ve done on ABC News, by the way. Our insiders are still on the inside of the company leaking us tape and information, and we want to do this because we want the media to be held to account.”
