Here's What 'Radical' Looks Like: The Dirty Details of 'The New Green Deal'

At National Review, Jim Geraghty has taken a look at some of the details in the so-called “Green New Deal” that lefties like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are proposing, and it's not pretty.

Geraghty outlines the more worrisome aspects of Ocasio-Cortez's proposal in his article, "The Not-So-Pretty Fine Print of the ‘Green New Deal.'" Among the more eye-popping discoveries are the following:

  • A plan to “cut military spending by at least half” and withdraw U.S. troops from overseas.
  • Within eleven years, the United States would be required to eliminate nuclear power, coal, and all natural gas.
  • Replacing non-essential individual means of transport with high-quality and modern mass transit. That's an overly complex way of saying "eliminate all cars."
  • Calls for the federal government would become the “employer of last resort."

Jim Geraghty joined WIBC host Tony Katz Thursday to expound on the details of his op-ed. Click the link below to hear the full interview:
