North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson testified before a House Judiciary subcommittee denouncing Democrat’s opposition to Georgia’s new voting laws.
Democrats’ biggest outcry when it comes to the new voting laws surrounds the idea that requiring voter id for an absentee ballot is restrictive and racist.
Tony Katz points out the irony as their argument is the one with bigotry implications.
“To say somebody who is black is unable to get an id…Well that’s beyond understandable. You’re saying that people who are of color aren’t smart enough to get an id.”
As for Lt. Gov. Robinson, he stated that Republicans want a better voting system unlike the Democrats who want nothing but power.
“What we want is integrity, not power. We want integrity, we want the right thing to be done. We want to encourage citizens to be responsible. We want to have the best election system in the world.”
He goes on to say making the new laws about race, about his race, is another ploy for the left to use to their advantage.
“It’s time we modernize our election system in this country and stop playing all these silly games on race. And please, stop using me, as a black man, as your pawn. Yes, I said it-to push your agenda.”
Katz reiterates that subjectifying people’s character and individuality to just their race is of itself racist.
“It’s wrong to take people and break them down and say ‘your just nothing more than the color of your skin. Or that’s your only identifying characteristic-that’s all you are.’ It is wrong to do that. Of course you can notice…but that is not the entirety of a person.”
