Or as we should headline it “OLD WHITE WOMAN SHOVES YOUNG BROWN GIRL IN A SHOW OF POWER.”

Nothing is more precious to a politician than a proper photo-op. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi showed this to be true as she ‘pushed’ a little girl to the side during a recent swearing-in ceremony.

Rep. Mayra Flores, R-TX, was sworn into Congress June 21st in Washington. After the ceremony, Flores and her family, husband and four children, lined up for a photo along with Speaker Pelosi. As they get into positions a video shows Pelosi elbowing one of Flores’ young daughters seeming to push her to move over.

After the event, Flores took to twitter to praise her young daughter for being polite about the incident.

“I am so proud of my strong, beautiful daughter for not allowing this to faze her. She continued to smile and pose for the picture like a Queen. No child should be pushed to the side for a photo op. PERIOD!!”

Flores is the first Mexican-born congressional representative.
