Actor and Michigan native Jeff Daniels has just outed himself as a proud member of the clueless and arrogant “Hollywood Elitist” club.

In an appearance on MSNBC Monday afternoon to promote his performance as “Atticus Finch” in Aaron Sorkin’s Broadway adaptation of “To Kill a Mockingbird,” Daniels slammed Midwesterners and ‘worthless republicans’ for enabling Donald Trump, warning that the ‘Republic’ is at risk.

Okay, Daniels actually warned that the ‘Democracy’ is at risk, but we didn’t want to make him look stupid.

Referring to Harper Lee’s prolific book and the play, Daniels noted that “Atticus Finch” believes the people “on the other side” don’t all have “bad intentions,” but that that notion is “being challenged now.”

“I think there are people in the Midwest, between the coasts, who don’t care about this, don’t have time for this, who have to make a decision now,” said Daniels. “You have to decide whether, like Atticus, you believe that there is still compassion, decency, civility, respect for others. Do unto others, remember that?”

If the Democrats end up losing the election to Trump in November 2020, he added, “it’s the end of democracy.”
