Pete Buttigieg to CNN's Jake Tapper: Trump Supporters 'Look The Other Way' on Racism

Asked if it's a 'racist' act to vote for Donald Trump in 2020, Buttigieg defaults to liberal rhetoric comfort zone.

Let's face it: you're really a big, fat nobody in the world of conservative politics unless you've been called a 'racist' by your ideological adversaries once or twice... Or thrice... Or daily. Labeling the principles of conservatism - presently dubbed 'Trumpism' by progressives and the gods of indoctrination in mainstream media - is the go-to narrative for any glossy-eyed, blue-blooded leftist.

South Bend mayor and presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg continued in that tradition during a recent appearance on CNN, telling host Jake Tapper that voting for President Trump in 2020 "at best means looking the other way on racism."

Jake Tapper's leading and loaded question: "Is it racist to vote for Trump?"

Buttigieg's predictable reply: "Well, at best, it means looking the other way on racism. But I think a lot of people are wondering what kind of deal even that is supposed to be."

Mainstream media outlets are reporting Monday that Buttigieg "stopped short" of calling anyone who votes for Trump racist. In other words, Pete's not saying you're a racist per se, he's just letting you know that you're behaving like a racist.

Buttigieg's comments were in part a response to Trump's comments at a New Hampshire rally that conservatives "have no choice" but to vote for him in 2020.

Buttigieg: "If you look at the numbers, basically, what he's saying is, all right, I want you to look the other way on the racism, tolerate the negativity, accept the instability of my administration, because I am going to deliver for you job growth almost as good as the Obama years."

WIBC host Tony Katz took Buttigieg down a few pegs during Monday's edition of "The Popcorn Moment."

Katz:

"It is NOT racist to vote for Donald Trump - that's a gross and low-rent Marxist trash. I'm voting for my economic best interests; I'm voting for the security of the nation; I'm voting for somebody who's willing to take on China and I'm a racist for it? That's obscene and it's ridiculous."
