Popcorn Moment: Two More Matt Lauer Accusers Emerge

NBC has received at least two more complaints related to Matt Lauer, according to an article in the New York Times, which quotes a person briefed on the network’s handling of the matter.

One complaint came from a former employee who said Mr. Lauer had summoned her to his office in 2001, locked the door and sexually assaulted her. The unidentified women said she felt helpless because she didn’t want to lose her job, and did not report the encounter at the time out of shame.

The New York Times did not provide details of the second accuser; however, the newspaper corroborated the account with her ex-husband and friend to whom she said she talked about the incident five years ago.
