Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN 5th District) has been front and center in the conversation about the war in Ukraine since Russia’s first initial attack. Spartz has been outspoken about her support for her native country of Ukraine. With Spartz support also comes criticism of how the Biden Administration is advising Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Most recently Spartz has focused her concern on the pressure Zelensky is getting along with her suspicion of his staff. Several GOP lawmakers on the House of Foreign Affairs Committee disapprove of Spartz public questioning stating that her “naiveness is hurting her own people.” Ukraine’s foreign ministry spokesperson accused Spartz of attempting to “earn political capital on baseless speculation” by questioning Ukraine’s leadership.

Spartz spoke with Fox News about the backlash she’s received.

“People on the ground want freedoms. But, we have to separate the bureaucracy from the people on the top and people on the ground. Me questioning oversight of this administration that failed us at every issue is somehow bad for our national security? It’s like a joke.”

Thursday, Rep. Spartz joined Tony Katz to discuss how she believes the Biden Administration is purposefully dragging their feet to truly help aide Ukraine. She says the Administration has a hidden agenda that has hurt both Americans and the Ukrainians.

“We don’t even know what the strategy is for the Administration. So I think from my perspective is that they are probably pushing on Zelensky to do what they want to do. But I’d like to hear from them, what are the goals? Stop lying to American people, stop lying to Congress… Our administration has a different agenda and that agenda is not aligned with the agenda of the American people, it’s not aligned up with the Ukrainian people or the Ukraine army.”

Katz asked Spartz if she believes Zelensky is up to the challenge to continue the fight against Russia.

“I think Zelensky is under pressure and they (Biden Administration) are putting more pressure under him. That is my suspicion from what I see happening. I think as a human being he cares about the people, but I think he’s been pushed to do things that aren’t good for the Ukrainian people and it’s unfortunate because a lot of them are dying right now and suffering.”

She adds that the Ukrainian people are strong, reiterating her frustration towards the Administration’s lack of effort in aide.

“But they are strong and I think they will prevail. I think all of these people are surprised about how well they (Ukrainian soldiers) can do, but they are so strong and capable. And they did a lot of things against the odds. I think it’s just terrible that the government does this to people. Honestly, I’m so frustrated with this administration.”
