America Hysteria Index: Bacon

A CNN commentator has come under fire for calling a Georgetown University student a racist “bigot” and “anti-Semite,” for wearing a costume with images of bacon on it at this weekend’s game against Syracuse.

CNN's Hillary Rossen thought the student was taunting Syracuse for having Jewish students; however, the young man was actually wearing the bacon suit because his last name is “Bakan." Further, he’s been wearing the suit for several games.

WIBC host Tony Katz pointed out that this wasn't the first time Rossen saw racism and bigotry where there was none.

When the Tea Party first began to emerge, Hillary Rosen was at one of the rallies, I think at Chicago or something like that. And [she] was asking people why they were so racist against President Obama.

And people were like, 'Stop it. This is about taxation; this is about spending.'

And she was trying to put words into people's mouths and to shut them down. It was obscene and gross how third rate Hillary Rossen was, and she has been since.
