Michael Cohen, the former lawyer and supposed ‘fixer’ for President Donald Trump, took the stand Wednesday morning to testify against Mr. Trump before the House Oversight Committee.

Cohen referred to Mr. Trump as a “racist,” a “con man,” and a “cheat” among other things, adding at one point that while he cannot confirm that the President colluded with Russia, Mr. Trump “was certainly capable of it.”

Cohen also apologized to the Senate panel for lying to Congress, but as WIBC host Tony Katz noted Wednesday, Cohen’s testimony isn’t about truth; it’s about throwing mud.

Katz:

“And just so we’re clear, Michael Cohen is a swarthy mother – that’s why Trump hired him. I just want to make sure we all understand each other. This is not a conversation of whether or not Donald Trump is the end all, be all in terms of pious men. But for Michael Cohen to go down the road to saying that Helsinki and Charlottesville were the things that caused him to ‘wake up’ and want to be a better man? Ridiculous.”
