Game on!
After a weekend break from road maintenance on northbound I-65, workers are ready to start patching and paving this weekend on the south side and downtown.
There will be serious closures and traffic interruptions.
Let’s dig in.
Friday Morning (5/10), 9am
South Side, ALL LANES of northbound I-65 will close from I-465 to the south split on Friday at 9am. All ramps will also close.
All lanes and ramps will reopen Monday (5/13) at 6am.
Friday evening (5/10), 9pm
Downtown, ALL LANES of northbound I-65/70 will close from the south split to the north split on Friday at 9pm. Traffic on eastbound I-70 will be diverted to southbound I-65. All ramps will close between the splits.
All lanes and ramps will reopen Monday (5/13) at 6am.
Friday evening (5/10), 9pm
South side, the LEFT THREE LANES of northbound I-65 will close from Southport Rd. to the south split on Friday at 9pm.
The lanes will reopen Monday morning (5/13) at 6am.
REROUTES
Here’s what INDOT recommends:
If you’re coming from the south side, it’s suggested you peel off on westbound I-465. Grab eastbound I-70 to hit the West St. or Meridian St/Illinois ramps and into downtown.
You can also take westbound I-465 to U.S. 31 and hop off, or just take U.S. 31 or S.R. 135/ S. Meridian all the way into downtown. Look here:
Also, those who live on the southeast side – say Franklin Township – might want to bump in on Southeastern.
