UPDATE: U.S. 52 - New Palestine Closure

U.S. 52 closure near New Pal has been moved east of town

Earlier today, I reported that from June 1st to June 30th (weather permitting), U.S. 52/Brookville Rd. would close in BOTH DIRECTIONS for a chip and seal project.

This project is now postponed or cancelled. U.S. 52 will still close on June 1st, but east of town - not west.

Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) sent an email Thursday afternoon saying U.S. 52 will close in both directions, but from Sugar Creek Bridge east of New Pal to S.R. 9. The closure will last from June 1st to June 18th.

52 change

INDOT says the full closure will prevent damage to cars and ensure commuters get the very best road possible. U.S. 52 will be available to local traffic, or drivers north and south of U.S. 52.

I’m working up a blog on the monstrous I-65 closure that starts July 1st. We’ll break it down, including ramps closed, interchanges closed, reroutes, etc.

Until then, please be safe.
