COMMUNITY TOUCHPOINT'S "A FAIR TO REMEMBER"

8am|Indiana State Fairgrounds Blue Ribbon Pavilion

A celebration of senior health and wellness, presented by Community Health Touchpoint.  Your ticket includes buffet lunch, info from more than 100 vendors, flu shots ($25 or no out of pocket cost with insurance or Medicare) – health screenings and keynote speaker Dave Dugan.  $8/$20 at the door.

 

 

FALL CREEK “FALL FEST”

5pm|Craig Kids Memorial Park

The Fall Creek Business Collective invite you to this one day Annual Fall Festival with good food, games, brews and entertainment!  Goes until 10pm.

 

 

 

RILEY CHILDEN’S HEALTH SPORTS LEGEND EXPERIENCE – FREE DAY!

5pm|Indianapolis Children’s Museum

FREE ADMISSION for kids with a paying adult.  (Limit 5 kids per paying adult). $5 adult admission.  Extremely popular!  Expect long lines of traffic on Illinois Street approaching the parking lots.  Also SAT: 5-8pm. 

 

 

HANNA HAUNTED ACRES – Opening Night!

7pm|Hanna Haunted Acres

Indy’s Haunted Theme Park!  Six haunted attractions for the Halloween season.  “It is a place to fear.  So fearful that it has made TripSavvy’s Events list.  Only the brave are the ones who make it through all the mazes.”   Open 7-10pm each night.  Until Midnight on Fri/Sat in October.   Ticket prices vary.

“A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM”

Part of the Indy Bard Fest through the 30th and Oct. 4-7th.  AGAPE Performing Arts Youth Theatre brings to life a beloved Shakespeare comedy.  $15. 

 

 

“THE LION KING” National Tour

8pm|Old National Centre       

Disney’s “Lion King” comes to life and no matter how any times you’ve seen the live performance…it’s incredible!  Broadway in Indianapolis brings the Tony Award winning musical performance to the Old National Centre for 22 performances.  Experience the phenomenon through Sept. 29th.

 

 

CHUCK WAGON DINNER & MOVIE

8pm|Eiteljorg Museum

Bring your lawn chairs, food and non-alcoholic beverages for  an outdoor film screening of “City Slickers”!  Food is available for purchase at 6pm and then settle in for the movie at 8pm.  Weather permitting.  FREE Admission.

 

 

 

 

SATURDAY, Sept. 29th

 

INDY WOMEN’S HALF MARATHON & 5K

7:30am|Meridian & Vermont in Downtown Indy

One of the Country’s largest “women only” half marathons and the largest “women only” running events in Indiana!  Half Marathon participants must be 10 yrs. & older.  The 5K open to participants of all ages, including kids in strollers.  $70 registration fee.

 

 

INAUGURAL WHITE RIVER DRAGON BOAT RACE & FESTIVAL

8am|White River State Park

Registration to enter the race is closed, but this should be a pretty cool event to watch!  A community wide competition featuring racing with 46 foot long Dragon Boats!  Plenty of good food and beer trucks on sight.  Part of the White River Alliance White River Festival. 

 

 

WESTSIDE KIDS FALL/WINTER RESALE SHOPPE

8am|Westside Nazarene Church

A community wide resale of gently used Fall/Winter children’s clothing, toys, baby equipment and maternity clothes.  It’s huge!  Reasonable prices.  No strollers permitted until 9:30 due to safety concerns.  Consignor registration is still open! 

 

 

SHANNON SMILES 5K

8am|St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church

Honoring the memory of SLDM Teacher Shannon O’Malia-Hall.  $25 individual, or $75 for a family.  Proceeds benefit a trust fund for her boys and the St. Nicholas Fund. 

 

 

2nd ANNUAL “SLAW FEST

10am|Sullivan Hardware & Garden

The celebration of coleslaw!  Slaw tacos, slaw dogs, slaw sliders, and all you can eat coleslaw!  Plus local craft beer, wine, and soft drinks available.  $10 (under 13 Free).  Proceeds benefit the Salvation Army. Goes until 2pm.


 

 

“GLUTEN-FREE ALLERGY FEST”

10am|Indiana State Fairgrounds Expo Hall

The largest expo of its kind in Indianapolis!  Over 75 exhibitors with tons of tasty foods to sample.  Plus, your admission gets you into any of the seminars and cooking demonstrations.  Sunday 10-3pm.  $15.

 

 

WALK TO END LUPUS

10:30am|Military Park

Walk 1 or 3 mile route to benefit the Lupus Foundation of Indiana.  Plenty of information, plus face painting, and DJ.  The walk begins at 12:30.   Come out and support the 1.5 million Americans that suffer the brutal impact of Lupus.

 

 

BAGI “HOME-A-RAMA” in HAMILTON COUNTY
