“JINGLE RAILS: THE GREAT WESTERN ADVENTURE”

10am|Eiteljorg Museum

It’s become a family holiday tradition.  A spectacular train show with replicas of local and national landmarks.  The Indiana State Fair is back and new this year…a trip along Route 66!  Included with museum admission.  Goes through Jan. 14th.

 

 

“CELEBRATION CROSSING” Opening Day

10am|Indiana State Museum

A holiday tradition with the Santa Claus Express, lunch at the L.S. Ayres Tea Room, and local Choir performances.  Today, Santa arrives at Noon via helicopter and the Indianapolis Children’s Choir performs at 11am in the Great Hall.   Goes until 5pm.  Included with Admission.

 

 

FESTIVAL OF TREES

10am|Indiana History Center

80 beautiful trees, elaborately decorated and on display until Jan. 5th.  You can vote for your favorite, which will be difficult!   This year features a 30 foot “show-stopper” decorated in an Indiana theme.   There will be special programs too, along with daily surprises.  Included with admission.

 

“GINGERBREAD VILLAGE”

10am|Conner Prairie

Opening day of the exhibit with the best Aroma!  See a variety of gingerbread creations by competitors of every skill level.  This year’s entries more than doubled!  Goes through Dec. 30th.  Included with museum admission.

 

 

JOLLY DAYS WINTER WONDERLAND – Opening Day

10am|The Indianapolis Children’s Museum

Your favorite 2-story “Yule Slide” is back again, along with Jingles the Holly Bear and visits with Santa.  Ice skate in your socks, explore an ice castle and go ice fishing until Jan. 6th.  Included with museum admission.

 

 

CARMEL “CHRISTKINDLMARKT”

Noon|The Center for the Performing Arts

Get into the festival holiday atmosphere a little early!  Vendors, crafts, gifts, traditional German food, and live entertainment through Dec. 23rd.  Click HERE for info on ice skating at “The Ice at Center Green”.

 

 

IHSAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL GAMES

Noon|Lucas Oil Stadium

The day kicks off with the 2A game – Eastbrook HS vs. Western Boone.  4A Bishop Dwenger vs. Evansville Central begins at 3:30.   6A Carmel vs. Warren Central begins at 7pm.   $15 for the day. 

 

 

“A CHRISTMAS CAROL”

5pm|Indiana Repertory Theatre

An Indy tradition, and one that everyone should see on the IRT’s OneAmerica Stage.  A Christmas Carol goes through Dec. 26th with lots of “special performances” that include post-show discussions with the cast.  Check out the #mycarolstory coloring page.  Tickets start at $25.

 

 

“CHRISTMAS AT THE ZOO”- Opening Night

5pm|Indianapolis Zoo

The Indianapolis Zoo was the first zoo in the country to have a holiday lights event, dating back to 1967.  Under the Bicentennial Pavilion, you’ll find the newest addition…”Santa’s Village”.  So many cool things to see, like the tunnel of lights, penguin encounter and mistletoe kisses!  Goes through Dec. 30th.   

 

 

WINTERLIGHTS” HOLIDAY LIGHT SHOW

5pm|Newfields

This is the one everybody talked about last year!  An outdoor experience featuring more than 1.5 million lights and a new “Wintermarket”.  Dress warm!  Goes through Jan. 6th.   Santa is here on TUESDAYS throughout December. 

 

 

56th ANNUAL “CIRCLE OF LIGHTS” CELEBRATION

6pm|Monument Circle

Come downtown the day after Thanksgiving for to witness the lighting of the “world’s tallest Christmas Tree”!  Dress warm and join the 100,000 spectators who gather year after year for the celebration!  Live music and entertainment. 

 

ACTORS THEATRE OF INDIANA - “IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE”

7:30pm|Center for Performing Arts Studio Theater - Carmel

Opening night of Frank Capra’s American holiday classic film comes to life in a live 1940’s radio broadcast. Goes through Dec. 23rd.  Times vary.

STARBASE INDY THANKSGIVING WEEKEND

8am|Wyndham Indianapolis – Airport

A combination of actors, astronauts, scientists, geeks and creators sharing their passions and their products.  Online badge sales are over.  $65 at the door.  Through Sunday.

The day kicks off with Class A – Pioneer HS vs North Vermillion, followed by the 3A game:  West Lafayette vs Evansville Memorial at 3:30.  At 7pm, New Palestine takes on Decatur Central in the 6A Championship game.   $15 gets you in for all 3 games.

 

 

STORYTIME WITH SANTA

12:30pm|The Indiana History Center

Santa takes a stroll through the History Center every Saturday from Thanksgiving to Christmas!  He’ll pass out treats and also stop by Eli Lilly Hall at 1:30 & 3:30 to read stories to the kids.

 

 

HOLLY JOLLY JETWAY CELEBRATION

2pm|Indianapolis International Airport

Santa makes a very special appearance at the Airport and you can watch his arrival from Civic Plaza!  Watch as he dashes across the tarmac on a firetruck and makes his way in to see the kids.  Pictures with Santa, and holiday activities also planned until 5pm.

Featuring dozens of beautiful displays totaling more than 3 million lights on a 2-mile course through the Indianapolis Motor Speedway infield and historic oval.  Several ticket options to choose from.  “Standard Lane” tickets only available at Gate 2 off 16th Street.

MIAMI DOLPHINS vs INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

4:25pm|Lucas Oil Stadium

Stop by the west block of Georgia Street before the game, for the “Bud Light Tailgate”!  Live entertainment, games, $3 Bud Lights, and great food!  Fun starts at 10am.

 

 

98 DEGREES AT CHRISTMAS 2018

7:30pm|Old National Centre

One of the original boy bands of the late 90’s with hits “Because of You”, “I Do” and “The Hardest Thing.”  In June of 2012, brothers Nick and Drew Lachey announced 98 Degrees’ official reunion.  Justin Jeffre, Jeff Timmons, and the Lachey brothers will perform one night only at Old National Centre.
