“JINGLE RAILS: THE GREAT WESTERN ADVENTURE”

10am|Eiteljorg Museum

It’s become a family holiday tradition.  A spectacular train show with replicas of local and national landmarks.  The Indiana State Fair is back and new this year…a trip along Route 66!  Included with museum admission.  Goes through Jan. 14th.

 

 

“CELEBRATION CROSSING”

10am|Indiana State Museum

A Hoosier holiday tradition with the Santa Claus Express, lunch at the L.S. Ayres Tea Room, and local Choir performances.  Goes until 5pm.  Included with Admission.

 

 

CONSERATORY CROSSING HOLIDAY EXHIBIT

10am|Garfield Park Conservatory

A fantastic winter wonderland with thousands of twinkling lights and model trains.  Be sure to see the beautiful poinsettia display!  Click HERE for special evening hours and programming.  $4.  $10 for families. 

 

 

FESTIVAL OF TREES

10am|Indiana History Center

Eighty beautiful trees, elaborately decorated and on display until Jan. 5th.  You can vote for your favorite, which will be difficult!   This year features a 30 foot “show-stopper” decorated in an Indiana theme.   There will be special programs too, along with daily surprises.  Included with admission.

 

 

“GINGERBREAD VILLAGE”

10am|Conner Prairie

See a variety of gingerbread creations by competitors of every skill level.  This year’s entries more than doubled!  Goes through Dec. 30th.  Included with museum admission.

 

 

JOLLY DAYS WINTER WONDERLAND

10am|The Indianapolis Children’s Museum

Your favorite 2-story “Yule Slide” is back again, along with Jingles the Holly Bear and visits with Santa.  Ice skate in your socks, explore an ice castle and go ice fishing until Jan. 6th.  Included with museum admission.

 

 

INDY BACON WEEK

11am|Participating Restaurants

Final three days of “Indy Bacon Week”, benefiting Second Helpings and organized by NUVO Newsweekly.  NUVO partnered with local restaurants and chefs to create some fantastic, $5 bacon specials.  Click HERE for a list of participating restaurants.

 

CARMEL “CHRISTKINDLMARKT”

Noon|The Center for the Performing Arts

Get into the festival holiday atmosphere a little early!  Vendors, crafts, gifts, traditional German food, and live entertainment through Dec. 23rd.  Click HERE for info on ice skating at “The Ice at Center Green”. 

 

 

33rd ANNUAL “YULETIDE CELEBRATION”

2 & 8pm|Hilbert Circle Theatre

A holiday tradition with the ISO and Jack Everly.   Josh Kaufman and Angela Brown return as Hosts with all those dancing Santas!  A new 2018 edition of the North Pole Reality Singing Competition, “Santa’s Choice!” and Indy’s own dance group “Expressenz” takes the stage this year!  Through the 23rd.

 

 

“CONNER PRAIRIE BY CANDLELIGHT”

5:30pm|Conner Prairie

A walking tour for the whole family that takes you back in time to 1836 Prairietown where it’s Christmas Eve.  The Program allows you to stroll at your own pace.  You’ll meet a variety of characters in their homes.  Dec.15, 21-22.  Last Tour is at 8:30pm. $16 – Adults, $13 for children.

 

 

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE

6pm|Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site

A special “Candlelight Theater” production that offers an interaction experience for all ages.  Sip hot cider, listen to carolers, and meet holiday characters from tradition and folklore.  The experience lasts 60-minutes.  Saturday – begins at 6pm. Sunday – 2pm.  $14.95 to $17.95.

 

 

“A CHRISTMAS CAROL”

7pm|Indiana Repertory Theatre

An Indy tradition, and one that everyone should see on the IRT’s OneAmerica Stage.  A Christmas Carol goes through Dec. 26th with lots of “special performances” that include post-show discussions with the cast.  Check out the #mycarolstory coloring page.  Tickets start at $25.

 

 

“CHRISTMAS AT THE ZOO”

5pm|Indianapolis Zoo

The Indianapolis Zoo was the first zoo in the country to have a holiday lights event, dating back to 1967.  Under the Bicentennial Pavilion, you’ll find the newest addition…”Santa’s Village”.  So many cool things to see, like the tunnel of lights, penguin encounter and mistletoe kisses!  Goes through Dec. 30th.  

 

 

WINTERLIGHTS” HOLIDAY LIGHT SHOW

5pm|Newfields

This is the one everybody talked about last year!  An outdoor experience featuring more than 1.5 million lights and a new “Wintermarket”.  Dress warm!  Goes through Jan. 6th.   Santa is here on TUESDAYS throughout December. 

 

 

THE INDIANAPOLIS CHILDREN’S CHOIR – “ANGELS SING”

7pm|St. Luke’s United Methodist Church

Begin a tradition with your family. Take them to St. Luke’s UMC to experience the Indianapolis Children’s Choir’s “Angels Sing” annual holiday concert.  Incredible, moving, and most certainly will put you in the holiday spirit.  Saturday at 7pm too.  $13.  Kids 5 and under FREE.

 

 

“MARY POPPINS” THE BROADWAY MUSICAL

7pm|Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre

A musical based on the story by P.L. Travers & Walt Disney Film.  The 2pm performance on Saturday, Dec. 15th will be inclusive to serve community members of all abilities.  Tickets from $52.  Performances through Dec. 29th.

 

“THE NUTCRACKER” by THE INDIANAPOLIS BALLET

7:30pm|Old National Centre

A long time Indy holiday tradition.  A live performance of Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet at a beautiful venue.  Performances through Sunday.  $20-$80.

“Making Spirits Bright” features Christmas songs you know and love, sacred songs, and contemporary hits.  You’ll love the tap-dancing toy soldiers and of course…Santa!  Dec. 15th times are 3 & 8pm.  $15-$25.

“BLEED BLUE BLOOD DRIVE & HOLIDAY FEST”

8am|Lucas Oil Stadium

“SANTA COMES TO FOUNTAIN SQUARE”

Carriage rides, cookie decorating, and storytelling for the kids.  Check out the holiday window displays and get your picture taken with Santa!  Goes until noon.

 

 

“SEASONS BLEATINGS!” INDOOR GOAT YOGA CLASS
