3 New Animal Experiences at the 2019 Indiana State Fair

Join in on the animal fun at the Indiana State Fair with goat yoga, K9 dog show, and an animal party

Livestock competitions and exhibits are a big part of the Indiana State Fair, but why just sit and watch the animals when you can actually interact with them? Fairgoers can expect some new animal events this year, such as show animals, performing animals, and heroic animals.

Party with the Animals

This take the word "party" to a whole new level. Be a part of an animal's daily life by engaging in behind-the-scenes activities, such as a morning stroll or nightly feeding with this new exhibit tour. Fairgoers will be able to have backstage access to Animal Town pres. by Indiana Farm Bureau. During this tour, Hoosiers will become animal experts by learning what it takes to take care of the animals. Tours are held 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily, and cost $10. Plus, participants will receive a prize after the tour. I don't know about you, but animals AND a prize, now that's what we call a win-win.

Goat Yoga

Step aside downward dog, we've got a new yoga position in town and it's baaaaaaa-ound to connect you with your inner spirit. Fairgoers will be able to partake in a yoga session with well-versed yoga instructors - goats! These yoga masters will be at the Indiana State Fair on Sunday, August 4, for Happy Goat Lucky Yoga. They'll climb, cuddle, and entertain as yogi's partake in a 1 hour session of yoga for beginners. Sessions begin at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3 p.m. Cost is $20. You can sign up at the Indiana State Fair website.

K9 Crew Trick Dog Show

Who said the Fair only has livestock? The "K9 Crew Trick Dog Show" is the most high-energy canine thrill show you'll probably ever see (don't quote us on that one). The "K9 Crew" has five full time performing canines, and fairgoers will be able to see them in action - catching high flying frisbees, comedy and tricks. You'll be able to see all this at the Renewal by Andersen Family Fun park each day at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4 p.m., or 6 p.m.
