Indianapolis Man Becomes Millionaire For Selling Items He Stole From Ebay

The local man who lives in Fishers is facing felony charges in Hamilton County.

That's one way to get rich quick.

35-year-old Ryan Walker of Fishers, Indiana made over 1.1 million dollars for selling items he stole from several big box stores on eBay according to WTTV

So how does one get away with something like this for so long? Here's how:

Walker would swap UPC bar codes on expensive items sold at Target or Walmart, pay pennies on the dollar for them, and sell the items on eBay.

Walker was able to get away with this for years.  Records show his eBay account, which started in 2010, sold 233 Lego sets, 285 electric toothbrushes and more for a total take of over $1,100,000.

Fishers police say they were able to bring Walker to justice thanks to an extensive shoplifting investigation that started in March and involved several police departments.

He faces felony charges in Hamilton County and currently remains behind bars.
