INDIANAPOLIS — It was a violent Sunday in the Circle City, as nearly a dozen people were shot across the city.

Indianapolis Metro Police say it all started around 3 o’clock Sunday morning. A fight broke out at a birthday party being held inside a banquet hall near West 38th Street and Lafayette Road. That fight led to a shooting in which 6 people were shot. IMPD says one woman died, 5 others were injured.

Around 9:30 Sunday morning, IMPD reported a seventh person shot at Stratford Court. That person was reported to be awake and breathing.

Fast forward to 5 o’clock Sunday evening – St. Francis Hospital South reported a walk-in person shot. IMPD says that person was awake and breathing. Police say the shooting may have happened in another county. About two hours later, IMPD made their way to Winthrop Avenue for a person shot. That person is in stable condition.

There was another reported shooting at Shadow Brook Drive and West 34th Street around 8 o’clock Sunday night, but police believe that was an accidental shooting. The victim is in stable condition.

Finally, Indy Metro Police say a 16-year-old was shot and killed at East 30th Street and North Lesley Avenue around 10 o’clock Sunday night.
