Numbers are accurate as of 8 o’clock Sunday morning (4/17/22).

INDIANAPOLIS — It’s the second weekend in a row with at least half a dozen people shot and multiple people dead in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metro Police say the first fatal shooting happened around 7 o’clock Saturday morning on Shellbark Drive. Investigators says the victim may have shot themselves, but that has not yet been confirmed.

The shootings continued throughout Saturday evening into Sunday morning. One person was shot on East 38th Street just before 7:30 p.m., and there’s no update on that person’s condition. Two people walked into Eskenazi Hospital at different times with gunshot wounds. Both are in stable condition.

A person was shot on East 34th Street about 10 o’clock Saturday night – again, IMPD lists this person in stable condition. A similar story at Kebil Court, where police got a call about a person shot after midnight.

IMPD says the other fatal shooting happened after midnight on Troy and Madison avenues. That brings the total number of weekend fatal shootings, so far, to two.
