MOUNT VERNON, Ind. — An 11-year-old boy died as a result of injuries that came from a fireworks-related incident.

Around 9:45p.m. Sunday night, state police responded to a call that a child was seriously hurt from fireworks at 932 N. Canal Street in Mount Vernon.

ISP say the boy, Camrynn Ray McMichael, had to be taken to the Evansville Hospital, but died on the way there.

Indiana State Police, the Mt. Vernon Police Department, and the Coroner are all investigating what happened. An autopsy is scheduled on Tuesday.
