INDIANAPOLIS — More than 250,000 Hoosiers 70 and older have scheduled appointments to receive their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine as of noon Thursday.

The total includes more than 125,000 Hoosiers ages 70 to 79 who scheduled their vaccines on Wednesday, the first day of their eligibility, says the Indiana Department of Health.

Eligible Hoosiers can register for an appointment at ourshot.in.gov, by calling 211, or by contacting one of the state’s Area Agencies on Aging.

Vaccines are free, but insurance may be charged an administrative fee.

Appointments for a second dose of the vaccine will be made at the time the first dose is administered.
