(INDIANAPOLIS) — Indiana will steer $30 million dollars to small businesses struggling to stay afloat in the pandemic.
Businesses who weren’t eligible for the federal Payroll Protection Program may qualify for grants of up to $10,000 from the state. Commerce Secretary Jim Schellinger says the program is open to
companies with fewer than 50 employees who can demonstrate they’ve lost nearly half their business.
The grants would be paid out over four months, or in a pair of monthly $5,000 installments for the
hardest hit companies.
A separate $10 million fund will fund manufacturing startups, or help factories retool their plants to
make masks and other health equipment.
