Trump Confirms He Canceled Strikes Against Iran

Trump tweeted this morning that the strikes were "not proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone."

WASHINGTON  --  President Trump said on Twitter Friday that he canceled retaliatory strikes against Iran at the last minute.

The canceled military airstrike was first reported by The New York Times.

Trump tweeted this morning that military airstrikes were "not proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone."

Trump said he was told that an estimated 150 people would die in U.S. strikes on three sites in Iran.

He noted that he is in no hurry and insisted that Iran "can NEVER have Nuclear Weapons."
