Two U.S. Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan

Two U.S. troops were shot and killed Monday by a member of the Afghan security forces.

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan -- The Pentagon says two U.S. service members were killed in Afghanistan when a member of the Afghan security forces opened fire. 

The shooting happened Monday in Kandahar. The shooter was wounded and is in police custody.

The two unidentified U.S. service members were assigned to advise and assist Afghan forces.

Twelve U.S. troops have been killed in action in Afghanistan so far this year.
