INDIANAPOLIS — Charges have been filed against 1 3-year-old  for the fatal shooting of a woman inside her home as it was being broken into.

Antonia Reiner, 69, was shot and killed in her Windsor Park neighborhood home on the near-east side of Indianapolis back in the early morning hours of Oct. 10. Investigators say she interrupted a burglary happening at her home.

One of the intruders was a 13-year-old who police say pulled out a gun and fatally shot Reiner. Neighbors knew Reiner as a volunteer for projects in the area, and as a mother and grandmother.

The prosecutor has not yet decided whether to charge the teen as an adult. Indiana law does not call for the identities of juveniles charged with crimes to be shared with the public unless they are charged as adults.

No one else has been charged in the case.
