FRANKLIN, Ind. — A man is seriously hurt after a plane crash in Franklin.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened just before 3 o’clock Monday afternoon. The single-engine plane didn’t even make it out of Franklin Flying Field private airport before crashing back down to the ground, just west of the runway on the north side.
The pilot was 83-year-old Floyd Hollandbeck of Brownsburg. He was trapped inside the plane for a short amount of time, but first responders managed to get him out.
He was flown to a hospital in Indianapolis. He has serious facial injuries and a possible broken leg.
No other injuries were reported.
