COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus Firefighters were called to Amazing Joe’s Restaurant when employees found smoke filling the restaurant as they prepared to open for lunch.

Officers with the Columbus Police Department said there was smoke and flames near the main entrance by the roof.

When firefighters arrived they made sure all employees were out of the building and then went onto the building’s roof, and were able to put the fire out.

On the roof, firefighters found bird nests near an abandoned electrical line, which they believe started the fire.

Smoke lingered in the dining area, but the only damage to the interior of the building was water damage in a small section of the dining area directly below where the fire had been.
