INDIANAPOLIS — Over the last few weeks the snow has melted away, and the weather has warmed back up, and some of your favorite zoo animals have come back out to play. Can you hear the lions roar at the Indianapolis Zoo? Don’t worry they’re just calling out to one another. Or, are you worried about the lonely orangutan in his exhibit by himself? Don’t be, just like people he may be shy and prefer being alone. What about the new baby penguin chicks? You’ll get to see them eventually, but right now they’re learning how to swim. There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes at the zoo that an everyday visitor might not realize, so, don’t be afraid to ask a zookeeper if you have a question.
