HARRISON COUNTY, Ind. — The body of a Harrison County boy who was reported missing last week was found in some woods near the interstate on Tuesday.

Jacob McCarty, 14, left his home in Corydon a week ago to take his dog on a walk in the woods, McCarty’s father told police.

Officers with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department told WLWT-TV that they got a tip that someone saw McCarty walking with his dog along I-64 on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 21.

Detectives also received surveillance footage that showed a person walking on the highway the same day McCarty went missing, according to WLWT.

Police searched the area and found McCarty’s body and the body of his dog.

Investigators do not suspect foul play and will know more after an autopsy is complete.
