INDIANAPOLIS — The boil water advisory was lifted Monday morning.

INDIANAPOLIS- Citizens Energy Group has issued a precautionary boil water order until Monday morning for part of the city.

Saturday morning, Citizens Energy was notified that there was a water main break at Stop 11 Road and Emerson. A construction worker hit the line near the intersection. Due to the break, several homes lost water. Repairs were quickly made, but they ask customers to boil all drinking and cooking water until they can complete testing Monday morning.

“Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for three minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiling or bottle water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation… Water can be used for showering, cleaning, and flushing without boiling.”

Citizens Energy also reminds customers, “as water pressure returns to normal, customers should expect some air in the lines in their house. This is normal and customers should let the water run until it is clear.”
