BROWN COUNTY, Ind. — Brown County State Park and Abe Martin Lodge are closed to the public on Tuedsay because there is no drinking water, according to the Indiana Dept. of Natural Resources.
The recent heavy rains have washed a lot of soil into Ogle Lake, which is the source of the park’s water supply. The soil is causing problems for the park’s water treatment plant, Indiana DNR said Monday.
The park and lodge closed at 4 p.m. Monday after the water problems were discovered.
Indiana DNR has engineers working with consultants to find a fix, but campers and guests staying at the lodge were sent home.
DNR said the decision about park and lodge closure after Tuesday is “day-to-day.”
