INDIANAPOLIS — A new location is needed for a Fourth of July tradition in Indianapolis.
Usually the Downtown Freedom Fest fireworks are launched from the rooftop of the Regions Bank building, but that has to change because of a new, nearby residential development. Because of the construction, fireworks are a no-go near the tower. So, Downtown Indy, Inc. is looking for a new downtown location to launch fireworks safely.
If they are able to set up a new site ahead of the Fourth of July, there won’t be the usual festival-type event because of social distancing, so people will be encouraged to watch from their own safe locations near downtown.
