East Side Indy Woman Says Little Girls Were Sent From Next Door To Steal Her Package
INDIANAPOLIS — Kimberly Brown-Harden lives on the east side of Indianapolis and had a package of new shoes delivered to her house this week, but when it was stolen she was shocked to see who the thieves were.
They were two little girls from right next door. She saw video of the two young girls taking the package right off her doorstep from her Ring doorbell.
“I look at my Ring, the video, and I am like, ‘Oh, my God, there are two little girls picking up the package and walking away with it’,” Brown-Harden said to WISH-TV.
But, it was as they were walking away to their house that Brown-Harden suspected that more was at play than just the two girls taking the package. Audio from the video heard one of the girls yelling: “we got it, Mom, we got it!”
“These little girls would not have had the presence of mind to do this on their own. I said, ‘Somebody sent them over here’,” Brown-Harden said.
Her husband went next door the same day and demanded the package be returned.
“He went over and there was a young man that he said answered the door and my husband asked about the package and he said, ‘I didn’t have anything to do with it.’ And my husband was like, ‘Just give me my package’,” Brown-Harden said.
They got the package back and when Brown-Harden opened the package, it had appeared as though the shoes she ordered had been worn by someone else.
She added that she was angry at whoever sent the girls over to steal the package, especially since he says her neighbors know that they have cameras at their front door and that they just took the package anyway.
“To me whoever is doing that, they’re just showing the child ‘hey, just take what you want, don’t worry about the consequences’,” Brown-Harden said. “That’s setting them up for failure.”
She said she did not call the police since the package was returned.
