INDIANAPOLIS–The Eiteljorg Museum’s galleries are back open and ready for you to look at some new paintings and some of the classics, too. The museum, located at White River State Park, will open its renovated galleries Saturday at 10 a.m.

“The Eiteljorg Museum’s western art galleries were renovated over the summer,” said spokesperson Bryan Corbin. “We have a spectacular new art exhibit in the galleries called ‘Attitudes: The West in American Art’”.

He said the classics by artists like Georgia O’Keefe are still there, too, in newly renovated areas.

Corbin said the ‘Attitudes’ exhibit will showcase art from Latino-American, Native-American, and Asian-American artists.

“We have a wonderful painting that reflects the Asian-American settlement of the American west by Chinese settlers who traveled east across the Pacific Ocean to California to work in the gold rush,” said Corbin. That painting will be welcomed Saturday at 11, with a lion dance.

Corbin said the family is welcome, with art-making activities and music throughout Saturday, along with presentations on the new galleries.
