Greenwood Chief: Eli Dicken Acted In 15 Seconds
GREENWOOD, Ind.--The man who shot and killed, or as police say “neutralized” the Greenwood Park Mall shooter, did it in about 15 seconds, said Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison, in a news release Tuesday. Ison orginally said it was about two minutes between the time Jonathan Sapirman exited the restroom at the food court and started shooting, until the time he was shot and killed.
Ison said he misread his notes during Monday’s 2 p.m. press conference. The time Sapirman came out and started shooting was 5:56:48. The time he was shot, according to the video, was 5:57:03 p.m.
“I feel the need to correct this immediately,” said Ison.
Sapirman was shot eight times, said Johnson County Coroner Mike Pruitt, in preliminary autopsy results released Tuesday. Of the eight shots, none were self-inflicted. They all came from Elisjsha Dicken’s Glock.
