INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Eric Holcomb shared a positive outlook for Indiana’s Economic Development during a recent interview with Inside Indiana Business.

The Governor is a few days removed from a week-long trade trip to Slovakia and Israel. While overseas, he met with executives from Doral Renewables, the Israeli company developing a massive $1.5 billion solar farm in northwest Indiana.

“For us to partner on the largest solar farm in America to date is special, because it shows that we are a leader in that renewable energy transition,” Holcomb told Inside Indiana Business.

While looking toward the future, the Governor said the state plans to strengthen its economic ties to Israel. Indiana is the fourth largest goods exporter to Israel in the Midwest and the 19th largest in the U.S.

Additionally, the state exports more than $1 million worth of goods to Slovakia, according to Inside Indiana Business. Chemicals, computer and electronic goods, machinery, petroleum and coal products, and transportation equipment are included.

The international trip left Holcomb with positive thoughts regarding Indiana’s Economy. He believes the state’s overseas partnerships will lead to growth for it’s economic development.

“Yes, I’m confident that there will be more good news that comes out of Israel and Indiana as we continue to chart our course together,” said Holcomb.
