Hoosiers Needed to Donate Blood in November

INDIANAPOLIS — Versiti Blood Center of Indiana is asking Hoosiers to make an appointment to donate blood in November.

Blood donors of all types are needed, especially donors with O-negative blood. O-negative blood is the “universal” blood type given to patients in emergency situations and those having surgery.

Here are Versiti blood drives scheduled across the Indianapolis area in November:

8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Nov. 8

11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Nov. 11
Mooresville Community
50 N. Monroe St.

10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 14
Harper’s Drive
750 Liberty Drive

11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 20
Riverview Health
395 Westfield Road

9 am.-1 p.m. Nov. 29
St. Jude Catholic Church
5353 McFarland Road

Hoosiers can also donate blood at any Versiti Blood Center of Indiana donor center.

Donating blood takes about one hour. Anyone age 17 and older who is in good health who meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to give. Parental consent is required for donors age 16 to give blood.
