INDIANAPOLIS — An IMPD officer fired their weapon Friday morning while responding to an incident on the city’s east side.
Officers were called around 3:30 a.m. to a house in the 10000 block of John Marshall Drive, according to IMPD.
Police told WISH-TV they were trying to check on a woman who said she was being choked by a man who was trying to take her phone.
Officers arrived and found the man, who had a gun.
IMPD said an officer fired one shot, but no one was hurt.
The officer has been placed on administrative leave, per IMPD policy.
One person is in police custody.
