ANDERSON, Ind. — An Indianapolis man charged for raping a girl while she lived in Anderson made his first court appearance Tuesday.

Dennis Skeens Jr., 45, is charged with Level 3 felony rape.

The Herald Bulletin says in 2016, the girl’s mother made her stay home from school with Skeens, while the mother went to work. The girl told police that’s when Skeens inappropriately touched her and forced the girl to perform sexual acts with a sex toy “numerous times that day.”

When the girl’s mother came home, she told her what had happened. The mother said she was already aware of what was going to happen, and that’s why she made the girl stay home from school.

When the family moved to Lawrence, Skeens raped the girl again, and forced her to perform sexual acts on her mother.

In 2020, the mother was charged with incest. She admitted to having oral sex with her daughter and letting Skeens have sex with the girl.

Skeens was booked into the Madison County Jail on Monday. The mother is scheduled to appear in court next month.
