INDIANAPOLIS — Teachers within Indianapolis Public Schools are getting a pay raise.
The IPS school board approved the plan to give teachers a raise on Thursday night.
With IPS teachers on two-year contracts, the new plan allows for raises between $1,400 and $2,600 in the first year of a contract. The second year will be a bump of between $1,500 to $2,700. The raises will take effect in July of next year.
The district is also increasing what they match on teachers’ contribution to their retirement plans.
