ZIONSVILLE, Ind. — Lightning hit a Zionsville apartment building Tuesday night, causing a fire.

Just before 10 p.m., firefighters were called to a fire at the Williams Glen Apartments on Williams Glen Blvd.

When firefighters arrived, they could see smoke and fire coming from the roof of a three-story apartment building.

It took about two hours for crews to get the fire under control.

“Firefighters did an extraordinary job putting out this fire quickly under difficult conditions,” Chief James VanGorder said.

One resident was hurt and treated at the scene. A firefighter was also hurt and taken to the hospital with a minor injury.

Damage to the building could exceed $100,000.

All residents in the affected building have been relocated by apartment management.
