INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A man’s death is being investigated as a homicide after he was found unresponsive in a field on the city’s northeast side overnight.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the area of 7900 Red Mill Drive Sunday around 1:35 a.m. on reports of a disturbance. That’s near North Franklin Road and East 38th Street on the city’s northeast side.
When officers arrived to the scene they found the man unresponsive in a field. Investigators learned the man had suffered injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene and homicide investigators are collecting evidence.
The identity of the man has not yet been released.
